Vinny’s notes ahead of tonight’s game

Hello again!

We start every game here at Turf Moor with unbelievable support from you and we know you’ll be giving everything to keep lifting us all the way.

For many, this is the cathedral of our town. We feel all the fantastic support and love. It keeps us strong and keeps us pushing hard.

We have one of the youngest starting teams in the Premier League and to see the way they are adapting to the massive step up from The Championship has been great.

We will start getting those wins the performances deserve.

Tonight, there will be two teams on the pitch giving absolutely everything for the cause.

Last season when we faced them it was part of the race for promotion. Earlier this season, Luton Town made us work hard all the way to the final whistle for our win at Kenilworth Road and we know they’ll do the same again this evening.

Rob Edwards has done a great job at the club, and we welcome him and all his staff.

We’re ready for the challenge.

I was saddened to hear Franz Beckenbauer passed away this week – someone I was fortunate to have met on a few occasions.

A true leader, he was an inspiration on and off the pitch for every single central defender in the world for many generations.

A genuine legend that the world of football will dearly miss.
